Ayisha Sereni, PhD, MBA
FOUNDER & LEAD INSTRUCTOR
As the first person in my family to attend, and graduate from college, it is safe to assume that I take education VERY seriously.
In fact, I take education so seriously, that after earning an Associate Degree from Montgomery County Community College and transferring to Drexel University where I earned a Bachelors Degree, I came back for even more schooling
years later to pursue an MBA and was on such a roll that I just kept going ultimately earning a PhD.
15 years into my Real Estate career, an opportunity to teach Real Estate pre-licensing classes at the same community college that I graduated from nearly 15 years prior presented. Since I had experienced a rewarding real estate career that was rooted in my strict adherence to Professional Standards and abiding by the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, I wanted to share my success strategies with others who were considering a career in real estate. I did not even think twice about applying for the position.
It did not take long for my colleagues to notice my entrepreneurial mindset that no doubt also contributed to the success of my real estate career. To my surprise, a few months later I was asked to help get a new program up an running. "It would only be a semester or two"...so I was told. The time would be spent towards launching the college's new entrepreneurship program known as the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies.
Eight years later...I found myself in the position of an Executive-level school administrator. Along the way, I acquired
valuable knowledge and developed a new skill set in the vital areas of curriculum development and assessment.
However, I longed for a greater work-life balance, and so I began to weigh various approaches that would position me to achieve this goal. It did not take long for me to identify several opportunities in the real estate education sector resulting in the conception of The Main Line School of Real Estate!
Possessing a strong foundation is the key to success in many areas, however, in education, it is a must. I am a proud native of Norristown, Pennsylvania, and graduate of Norristown Area School District (NASD). As a teenager, I envied my friends who attended private schools. It wasn't until years later that I realized the value of my public school education- ultimately positioning me to keenly understand the diverse world in which we live. So when the time came to enroll my own children in Kindergarten, a public school education was the only option to consider.
Finally, when the opportunity arose to run for the Phoenixville Area School District School Board, I knew that this role would allow me to apply my professional experience, academic knowledge, and intrinsic passion for public education to good use, and I am honored to serve the Phoenixville Community in this capacity.
